Runways
Wind is reported in degrees true; runway numbers are magnetic. Both are shown. Magnetic variation here is 12.81°E as of 2026-07-26. Runways keep their numbers as variation drifts, so a designator and its current magnetic heading do not always round to the same figure.

Local procedures
Oakland's North Field is the general aviation complex and is a normal place to fly patterns; the handbook states outright: "use caution for traffic at 1000' in the right closed traffic pattern on RWY 28R". NASR independently flags 28R as right-hand traffic. Runway 12/30 is the air carrier runway and is not a pattern surface.
From the FAA, checked 2026-07-26. Source. That document describes itself as advisory and not for legal preflight action.
Windsock does not know this field's noise abatement, calm wind runway or flight training restrictions, and will not guess at them. Look them up for KOAK.
